PRESERVING LOCAL ICE — COMMUNITY UPDATE

Academy Hockey Club would like to thank the City of Kettering and its leadership for their openness to exploring creative solutions for the future of the Kettering Ice Arena. The open and honest discussions are encouraging, and a path forward is starting to take form.

Academy’s focus is to explore long-term solutions to preserve and expand ice sports in our region. To do so, we will work with community partners, local leaders, and ice-sports stakeholders to keep local ice accessible, sustainable, and available for future generations of skaters and hockey players. Academy Hockey Club is a non-profit organization focused, for the past 10 years, on increasing participation in ice-sports in the greater Dayton/Cincinnati area. Our goal is to provide skate/play opportunities for area youth — because we strongly believe sports creates better citizens. Academy Hockey Club is a non-profit organization founded in 2016 and focused on increasing participation in ice-sports in the greater Dayton/Cincinnati area.

Early discussions have begun, and Academy is working with local construction and industry leaders to develop realistic cost estimates. Those estimates will help inform our fundraising target.

Make no mistake—THIS WILL BE A HEAVY LIFT! Success will require the entire skating community working together toward a singular goal: investing to preserve our local ice.

Together, we can preserve local ice for the next generation.
